This third album was a hybrid project, and it was more difficult than either of the previous two. The reason for this was that it mixed new material which (with the help of Steve Williams' creative genius) I knew how to bring to life, with material I had written before and just couldn't seem to get right. In the first group are Picture The Boy and How The West Was Won, and in the second, Weakness and Secrets: still not sure I got these right. Many Is The Time was a joyous family enterprise to record with Tom on bass, Sam on drums and Penny on bv's. Cawsand Lament was my first ever attempt to set someone else's lyric to music: Penny's Dad, David, had been a lifelong poet and this is his tribute to his home village in Cornwall.
